On April 1, a live-action drama “Border Town” adapted from the novel of the same name written by Shen Congwen, one of the most influential modern Chinese writers, was staged in Fenghuang Ancient Town of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, attracting tourists from all over the country. 2,600 seats in the theater were full.
The drama has been performed in Fenghuang Ancient Town for 10 years, with multiple upgrades and revisions.
At present, it consists of six acts, with a duration of about 75 minutes. The story among Cuicui, Grandpa, Nuo Song, and Tianbao is vividly portrayed on a multifunctional real-life forest stage adopted with sound, light, and electrical technology, making the audience mesmerized.
